Goderich wants to work on shoreline at south end of town

Goderich Mayor John Grace says he’s anticipating the need for some shoreline hardening at the south end of town.

Grace says they’ve done that successfully at the town’s beaches and he suspects they’ll have to do some additional work as the town expands to the south.

“We suspect we’re going to have additional work to do as the town expands to the south and we’re doing the studies and the engineering and we will do the studies and then decide when, how much and how we’re going to do it.”

While the initiative is in its early stages, the town is working with landowners.

Grace adds their engineers have said the process they used at the town’s beaches should be just as successful at the south end of town, but again, he points out their still in the very early stages.
