Kincardine to host virtual housing forum

All current and prospective residents of Kincardine are invited to take part in a virtual housing forum.

It’s scheduled for June 8th from 4:30-6:30 pm.

In April, the municipality launched a “Municipal Housing Survey”, and collected responses from over 1,000 individuals. The results of the survey will be shared at the Housing Forum.

“The Municipal Housing Survey filled in gaps in housing data, especially around what type of housing was most desired,” said Mayor Gerry Glover. “Now, the Municipality is in a better position to explore housing solutions that the community has told us they want.”

Those who attend the virtual forum will also learn about housing solutions being implemented in neighbouring communities, including Saugeen Shores and Huron County.

Attendees will also take part in a community discussion around housing; and provide input on the Municipality of Kincardine Housing Action Plan.

“The Housing Action Plan will guide how the community develops moving forward,” said Lorie Fioze, Manager of Strategic Initiatives. “We’re hoping to hear from as many current or potential members of the community as possible.”
