Election Day in Ontario is Thursday, but over one million eligible voters have already cast their ballot.
Over ten advance polling days, Elections Ontario said 1,066,545 voters voted, representing just 9.92 per cent of the voting public.
By comparison, 6.8 per cent cast their ballot during five advance polling days in 2018.
“I want to thank all voters who took advantage of ten days of advance voting, and the staff who continue to help make voting safe, efficient, and secure in Ontario,” said Chief Electoral Officer of Ontario Greg Essensa.
If you missed the advance polls and still want to vote early, you can still vote by special ballot at the returning office in your riding until June 1. Those who have applied to vote by mail need to send in their complete voting kit no later than 6 p.m. on June 2.
If you still haven’t received your Voter Information Card, you can still vote. Be sure to take at least one piece of government photo identification and a bill with your address listed on it.
Election Day is on June 2. The polls will open at 9 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.
