The vaccination clinic at White Oaks Mall will remain open for at least another month.
Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) officials confirmed the walk-in clinic at the popular south London mall will continue administering doses of the vaccine throughout June.
The health unit decided to extend the clinic as it remains popular among those seeking second, third and even fourth doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. The clinic recently reopened in early April. Last fall, the clinic doled out nearly 6,000 vaccines in about a month.
“We are grateful to White Oaks Mall for allowing us to continue delivering the COVID-19 vaccine in this space and allowing us to meet the needs of our community in an easy and convenient way,” said Medical Officer of Health Dr. Alex Summers. “Even though we’ve seen a lot of people coming to get their fourth dose, we’re ready to welcome anyone who is eligible and who would like to get their first, second or third dose of vaccine.”
The clinic is located next to the Tim Hortons by the food court and can be accessed through the mall’s east entrance off Wellington Road. It is open Thursdays through Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The clinic is scheduled to close on Saturday, June 25.
On Friday, the health unit reported that the number of COVID-19 positive hospitalizations was up from the previous day. However, the number of patients in intensive care went down slightly.
