It will be deja vu for motorists as University Drive Bridge will be closed to vehicles on Monday, March 14.
Western University announced that the bridge will close from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for an annual inspection.
“During the closure, one sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists, who will be required to walk their bikes across,” the university said.
The one-day closure will result in some of London Transit’s busses being rerouted.
Past closure of the bridge has caused significant traffic in the north end of the city.
In 2018, an inspection showed deterioration in the bearings that help the bridge to adjust to various weights in fluctuating temperatures.
It took four and a half months to repair the two-lane bridge.
