Provincial police continue to investigate a crash that claimed the life of one person in Tillsonburg.
Emergency crews were called to the collision on Lisgar Avenue just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Oxford OPP initially believed a pedestrian had been struck, however, further investigation determined a passenger had been ejected from and then hit by a moving vehicle.
The driver of that vehicle left the scene, but returned later and was taken into custody, police said.
The name and age of the deceased have not been released.
Lisgar between Fifth Street and Van Norman Drive was closed for several hours. It was reopened overnight.
The fatal collision was the second incident to bring emergency crews to the street on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, tenants of an apartment building on Lisgar Avenue had to be rescued after fire broke out in a fourth floor unit.
