Medical community concerned about EPA plan to lift restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions
The EPA proposes rescinding the “endangerment finding” that found climate change was harmful to people and greenhouse gases should be restricted. The Trump administration says the “endangerment finding” is costing the economy $54 billion a year. Doctors say the cost to people’s health will be higher.
Michigan state parks to increase camping rates beginning August 1
Beginning August 1, 2025, many of Michigan’s 103 state parks will increase rates for camping and overnight lodging. According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the reason for the increase is to keep pace with the cost of utilities, equipment, and staff.
Mooz the dog is helping scientists in Michigan study threatened turtles
One of Michigan’s best wood turtle searchers is Mooz, the dog. His owner is an inland fish and wildlife program manager at the Natural Resources Department of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians. They search for where wood turtles lay eggs.

But a decade later, Michigan has not only failed to increase its scores — the state now regularly ranks within the bottom 10 states in the nation.
