And the band plays on

Lighthouse Swing Band still movin’ and groovin’ after 40 years

They say everything old is new again, which describes the Lighthouse Swing Band perfectly. The band, which was formed in 1984, was designed in the standard swing band style, consisting of four trumpets, four trombones, five saxes and four rhythm. It’s a configuration that began in the 1920s and a style that was followed by the likes of Glenn Miller and other big bands. (By Liz Small)
