Duluth flooding leads to sewage overflow

Last week’s major snowmelt in the Duluth area led to sewage overflow for the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD). Typically, the plant deals with about 38 million gallons of sewage per day, but last week, water flowing in for treatment ranged from 90 million to 125 million gallons daily for several days.
