RUTH INGARD
Ruth June Ingard (née Kalbfleisch) of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late Kris Ingard (1989).
Loving mother of Eric Ingard (Desna) and David Ingard.
Missed by her granddaughter Kirsten Charette (Rob), grandson Kris Ingard (Sarah), great-grandson Dominique Charette and great-granddaughter Desireé Charette.
Fondly remembered by her sister Joyce Heck (Carl) and her nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Kitchener, Ontario on July 5, 1927, to the late Gordon and Lenora (née Schneider) Kalbfleisch. While working at Ontario Hydro, she met her husband Kris Ingard. Her early married life involved making a home on various hydro-electric projects in Northwestern Ontario before settling back to Southern Ontario in Ajax and Kincardine.
Ruth enjoyed volunteering her time with the UCW, Meals on Wheels and was treasurer of the local Canadian Cancer Society. She carried her spirituality wherever she went, a lifelong member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kitchener and was active in the United Church in Kincardine.
Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 12 noon to 1 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Gord Dunbar officiating.
A coffee hour in Ruth’s honour is being planned for March at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kitchener.
Final resting place: Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
Memorial donations to the Kincardine United Church or the Church of the Good Shepherd – Kitchener would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
