Ripley Wolves are moving on after defeating Shelburne at home last Friday night, 9-2. They will now play either Minto who is up three games to two over Clinton, or Tavistock, who defeated Saugeen Shores four games to two, with a win at home on Sunday.
Two years ago the Wolves were tied 2-2 with Minto in the semi-finals, when play was stopped because of COVID-19. Seaforth won the other round, 4-1 over Durham.
Brett Catto led the way with four goals. Single goals went to Keaton Willis, Dan Nicolof, Tyson Soers, Alex Kuntz and Jarrett Kuntz. Cody Britton added four assists.
Britton is leading playoff scoring with three goals and eight helpers. Garrett Meurs is second with six goals and four assists. Catto is tied for fourth, with five goals and three assists.
The Wolves didn’t play this Saturday because of bad weather.
The Kincardine Bulldogs defeated Mount Forest at home on Friday night, 6-4.
Nolan Koetsier, Kent Ribey, Jarrett Trumbley, Bryce McFadden, Brennon Long and Carter Servais all scored for the Bulldogs. Grant Steven had two assists. This was the fourth straight game that Servais has scored for the Bulldogs.
Joshua Jacklin stopped 34 out of 38 shots for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs played Goderich at home on Family Day and play at home against Wingham this weekend at 7:30 p.m.
Just two more weekends of league play and playoffs will start the second week of March.
