It was exciting for the four local teams to make it to the final of the Kincardine Silver Stick, this past weekend and it was great to see the big crowds that watched these exciting finals on Sunday. The tournament ran for three days in Ripley, Tiverton and Kincardine. The two local U13 teams were victorious, but the two local U15 teams both lost one goal games in the final game.
Kincardine U13 defeated Saugeen Shores 2-1 in the U13B final. Luke Walsh and Cayden McGuigan scored for the U13 team for the win. In the U13C final, Huron Bruce won 6-5 in overtime with Jared Moffat scoring in overtime. Moffat also scored five of the six goals in the win over Wingham.
Huron Bruce U15B lost to Essa 1-0 in the final. Huron Bruce had defeated Essa on Saturday 2-1 in a round robin game.
Kincardine U15 lost to BCH 1-0 in the U15B final, in another close hard fought game.
Congrats to all the teams for putting on a great show for the fans.

The Ripley Wolves had to cancel its home game last Friday night against Shelburne, because of COVID-19. They travelled to Shelburne with a short bench and won 5-3, to go up three games to zero in their WOAA playoff series.
Garrett Meurs led the way with two goals. His second one came with 43 seconds left in the third period, to give the Wolves a 4-3 lead. Dylan Sayles, Chase Meurs and Jarrett Kuntz had single goals for the Wolves. Keatin Willis had three assists and Nick Seiler had two assists with Jared Colling and Robert White getting one helper, each.
The Wolves play game five at home this Friday night at 8:30 p.m. Saugeen Shores and Tavistock are tiers 2-2. Seaforth is up 3-1 over Durham and Minto is up 2-1 over Clinton.

The Kincardine Bulldogs lost a pair of road game shifts this past weekend. On Friday night in Wingham, they lost 3-2 in overtime. Gavin Downs and Carter Servais both scored for the Bulldogs. Ryan Tanner continues his strong play in net, stopping 27 out of 30 shots.
On Saturday night in Mitchell, the Bulldogs lost 7-2. Jeffrey Fritzley and Servais scored for Kincardine and Parker Miller had two assists. The Bulldogs play in Wingham Friday night, then play at home against Wingham on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and are then back home on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. to take on Goderich.
