Bruce Peninsula under “high risk” of forest fires
Grey Bruce Public Health is warning that the entire Bruce Peninsula is currently considered at “high risk” for forest fires.
The GBPH shared on its Twitter page that according to the Ontario Forest Fire Info Map, the Bruce Peninsula has a high danger rating and could experience forest fires due to extremely dry conditions and hot weather.
You can view the Ontario Forest Fire Info Map (https://www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca/ForestFireInformationMap/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM) and see the entire Bruce Peninsula highlighted in yellow for High Danger. Many fires are already burning in the northern part of the province, as well as continuing fires in BC, Alberta, and Nova Scotia.
According to the Ontario Forest Fire Info Map, most of the #BrucePeninsula is currently at high risk for forest fires.
