UPDATE: Tornado warning issued for Oxford County

Environment Canada has ended a tornado warning issued in parts of Oxford county early Tuesday evening.

At 7:49 p.m., the weather agency said it is tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. The warning is in effect for Oxford County, Woodstock and Tillsonburg.

“A possible tornado has been reported near Beachville and is moving to the northeast,” read a statement from Environment Canada. “This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.”

Beachville is a municipality located north of Highway 401 between between Ingersoll and Woodstock.

Just before 8:30 p.m., the weather warning was lifted. A funnel cloud advisory remains in effect for the region, as conditions are capable of producing funnel clouds.
