Mapleton Township to update strategic plan

Mapleton Township is launching a process to update the corporate and community strategic plan which guides council decision making.

The project will include consultation and communication with staff, council, and community stakeholders to identify new opportunities while supporting current activities.

Council hopes the update will reflect its vision for the community and its values in an action focused plan. The plan will outline current and proposed initiatives that would reflect the core values in the plan, including timelines and the resources needed.

Consultations are expected to involve a cross section of the community, such as sporting organizations, business associations, developers, builders, the cultural community, agricultural interests and firefighters. Staff are arranging a focus group session with community organizations, and will then launch a process to gather ideas from the general public.

The process will be supported by Murray Clarke of Erebus Municipal Services Inc., a former interim CAO at Mapleton Township.
