London police investigating shooting on city’s north end

The London Police Service is looking for the public’s help in an investigation after one man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on Friday.

Police said two men were in a parking lot in the area of Fanshawe Park Road West and Hyde Park Road around 8 p.m. Friday when they were approached by another man who fired a handgun at them.

The man then left the area, according to police.

“Members of the London police attended the area and located the two men in the parking lot,” said officials in a statement. “One of the men was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged. The other man was not injured.”

The investigation is in its early stages, but police said it is believed not to be a random incident.

Police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in this investigation and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident or anyone who may have video footage of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and has been taken over by investigators from the London Police Service Major Crime Section.
