MPs offer drastically different takes on proposed London ridings rejig

The commission rejigging Ontario’s ridings has tabled its final recommendations in the House of Commons, a proposal that would see Thames Centre and London’s Old South, Sunningdale and Stoney Creek neighbourhoods joining new electoral turf. The final decisions won’t be made until the fall, but with the plan calling for about 37,000 Londoners north of Fanshawe Park Road to be swept into a new predominantly rural riding, one local MP is seriously considering fighting the proposal as politicians review the redrawing of the region’s electoral roadmap for federal and provincial elections.
