Central Huron Mayor’s Mingle returns

The municipality of Central Huron is hosting its annual Mayor’s Mingle next Monday evening.

Community Improvement Coordinator, Angela Smith, said is the ninth Mayor’s Mingle they’ve hosted, but the first since the pandemic put the event on hold a couple of years ago. Smith says the main street will be closed at four o’clock on Monday and people can enjoy a free meal, starting at six o’clock. Smith says, aside from enjoying the party and, hopefully, the good weather, the Mayor’s Mingle gives people and opportunity to talk to council.

“It gives them an opportunity to talk to council on an informal basis. So any concerns or compliments they may have, or suggestions, they can feel comfortable to chat with one of the councillors, or the Mayor or Deputy Mayor, without the formality of a typical council meeting,” she said

Smith added, “This is a special year because we are pleased to have the revitalization of the downtown nearing completion. They’re just putting the final touches on the Cenotaph Park and the new street re-construction that happened last year, so this is a big year to celebrate our downtown.”

The main street will be closed at four o’clock on Monday and there will be live musicians, a bouncy castles, a bike rodeo and a draw for two free kids bikes. So all residents are invited to come out and celebrate on Monday, June 27th.
