Stratford Police seized firearms and drugs during a traffic stop in Perth South.

Officers pulled over a vehicle on Line 26 at about 12:30 Wednesday afternoon because they suspected it was being driven by a man ordered not to have contact with the owner of that vehicle.

Officers allege the driver had a prohibited knife, and a 51-year-old Stratford man was arrested for Possession of a prohibited weapon. A further search of the vehicle turned up crystal meth, and hydromorphine, along with a altered .22 calibre ruger carbine rifle, a loaded bb gun, and a loaded .22 calibre magazine clip.

A suspect is now being held in custody facing nine separate charges, including seven weapons offences and two charges of possession of a controlled substance.
