Bruce Power asking more local residents to participate in evacuation study

Bruce Power is asking Saugeen Shores residents to participate in a short survey regarding their Emergency Preparedness Evacuation Study.

In partnership with Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, and a third-party independent firm, Bruce Power is trying to determine evacuation times as part of ongoing emergency preparedness planning.

Bruce power must complete their Evacuation Time Estimate study as part of their operating license with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.

The last study was completed in 2016.

The study will determine the time it would take people in the planning zones around the Bruce Power facility to evacuate in the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency. The third-party firm, KLD Engineering, is helping to survey residents within these zones.

The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and KLD will use the responses as part of the study. One member of each household is asked to participate. You can find the survey at BPsurvey.kld.engineering.
