Obituary – Ken Buckingham

KENNETH W. BUCKINGHAM
March 21, 1944 – Jan. 19, 2024

Kenneth “Ken” Wayne Buckingham of Kincardine passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, in his 80th year.
Survived by his wife of 50 years Sharon (née Snowden) Buckingham, daughter Sarah (Carolynn) Gludish and his two grandsons who he adored, Gabriel and Everett.
Missed by his sister Lois Dwan, and brothers Robert Buckingham and Ronald (Jeannette) Buckingham.
Fondly remembered by several in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Predeceased by his mother Eleanor McKay, father Clifford Buckingham, stepmother Helen Harrison and brother Roy Buckingham.
Ken was proud of his service with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1962 to 1967. He was an avid golfer, crossword connoisseur, dependable neighbour and friend. He could always be called upon to lend a hand and enjoyed a close connection to his community. In his last few years, his role as grandfather brought him great joy and purpose.
Visitation was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m., with Ann Maycock celebrant.
Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
