Hanover man charged with stealing commercial vehicle

Wellington County OPP have charged a Hanover man after he allegedly stole a commercial vehicle before driving it off the road.

Police responded to a call along Wellington Road 7 in Mapleton around 8:30 a.m. on June 6. A commercial vehicle had left the roadway and the driver was located uninjured.

After investigation, officers determined that the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the day.

As a result, a 27-year-old of Hanover faces charges including motor vehicle theft, careless driving and operating without a licence. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph in August.
