Signage notifying drivers of the closure is in place.

“Motorists are encouraged to check if their commute is impacted, give yourself a little extra time when traveling, and plan ahead using a navigational app such as Waze or Google Maps,” city officials said in a statement.

The road is expected to reopen around 4 p.m.

Lane restrictions on Highbury between Bradley Avenue and Highway 401 will remain in place for ongoing interchange improvement work.

Roughly 48,000 vehicles travel along Highbury on a daily basis.
