County warns that local bridge and roadway to be closed for resurfacing

Bruce County is letting drivers know that a local bridge will be closed for a lengthy period of time.

The county is beginning the resurfacing of Bruce Road 6 for a 300 km stretch from Deemerton to George Street in Mildmay. Phase 1 involves resurfacing the Carrick Bridge, on Bruce Road 6 East, between Deemerton and Grey Road 10, which starts on Monday, May 8 and will close the bridge for 8 weeks.

The entire resurfacing of Bruce Road 6 is estimated to be completed by the fall. The section of Bruce Road 6 East near the bridge will remain open to local traffic only and there will be alternate routes and detours established for through-traffic. Signage will be in place.

Drivers are asked to remain patient while this critical work is done by the county.
