Police seek driver who failed to remain at collision in Chesley

The South Bruce OPP are searching for a driver who caused significant damage to another vehicle and failed to remain at the scene of the collision.

On the evening of February 8, police were called to a two-vehicle crash along 1st Avenue South in Chesley. A black SUV was reportedly travelling southbound along the roadway when another dark coloured vehicle passed by at a high rate of speed. As the driver made this maneuver, the vehicles collided and the black SUV was left with about $1,400 worth of damage to the side view mirror, according to police.

When officers responded to the crash, they alleged only the black SUV had remained at the scene. The OPP continues to search for the driver of the other vehicle in order to complete the collision report.

Police said the suspect vehicle likely has damage to the passenger side, side view mirror. They are interested in viewing any video of the area that was captured between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on February 8.
