The City of Owen Sound is looking for candidates for the 2023 Senior of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year.

Nominations are open until Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Forms can be obtained on the City’s website, or printed copies are available at City Hall.

This will be the 40th year the city will recognize volunteers from community groups and organizations who have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in the City of Owen Sound

Awards in 2022 included Volunteer of the Year, Elizabeth Charlton and Senior of the Year Sharon McKechnie.

The City’s Community Services Committee serves as the selection committee, and council will present the winners with their awards prior to a Council meeting in April and June.

“The community in and around Owen Sound is surrounded by generous volunteers who provide their time for the good of the community. I encourage anyone who knows a deserving volunteer to complete a nomination form and work to have their efforts recognized,” said Mayor Ian Boddy.
