Rainfall warning issued for southwestern Ontario

It is going to be a wet start to the week for parts of southwestern Ontario.

Rain is forecast to begin Monday night over the region before moving northeast early Tuesday.

The significant rainfall has prompted the national weather agency to issue a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and London-Middlesex.

Forecasters are calling for heavy rain at times, with up to 25-45 millimeters of rain in some areas.

The rain is expected to begin early Monday evening, lasting throughout the night before tapering off Tuesday morning.
