Three teens charged in London armed robbery, assault

Three weeks after a man was assaulted and shot with a pellet gun during an attempted robbery in an east London parking lot, three 15-year-olds have been arrested.

The man was walking away from his vehicle in a parking lot on Mornington Avenue near Salisbury Street around 3 a.m. on December 9 when he was stopped by three teens.

One of the teens pulled out a firearm while another demanded the man’s car keys, London police said. The man was then physically assaulted and hit with pellets before the trio ran from the scene empty handed.

The man suffered minor injuries.

Police were called and began investigating the incident.

On Thursday, it was announced three 15-year-olds had been arrested as a result of the investigation.

All three have been charged with one count each of robbery. One faces an additional charge of pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, and possession of a weapon, while another is also charged with pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

The third teen faces an additional charge of failure to comply with an undertaking.

The teens, who cannot be named because of their age, were scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.
