Stratford police investigating shooting

The Stratford Police Service is investigating after a man was shot on Tuesday night.

According to police, the shooting happened on Stratford Street just after 7:30 p.m. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be released soon. Police say an unknown male suspect shot the victim outside a residence on Stratford Street and then sped off in a white vehicle.

Investigators say the shooting appears to be targeted and there is no current threat to public safety.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white car, possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The suspect vehicle left the scene and travelled south down Stratford Street, turning right onto Cambria Street towards Erie Street. Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this shooting to contact Stratford Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
