OPP seeking possible footage from night of shooting near Delaware

Provincial police are looking for potential video footage that could help with an investigation into a shooting in Middlesex County in September.

The incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. on September 4 when Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the Sharon Creek Conservation Area for a person in distress. Police say emergency crews arrived at the park near Delaware and found a person suffering from several gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

“The Middlesex OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is continuing to investigate this incident and is asking members of the public who were in the area of Sharon Drive on the night of September 3, 2022, between the hours of 11:30 p.m., and 12:20 a.m., and witnessed any suspicious behaviour to contact them,” a release from the OPP read.
Police are also looking for potential dashcam footage from any vehicles that may have been in the area around the time of the shooting.
