Criminal harassment, extortion charge laid against police college contractor

A security contractor at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer is facing harassment and extortion charges.

Elgin OPP were contacted by staff at the college on November 10 regarding a complaint by two students filed against an employee of a private-sector security company working at the facility.

Police investigated the allegations and arrested a 53-year-old St. Thomas man.

He has been charged with two counts of extortion and two counts of criminal harassment, OPP said Friday. Police did not release any other information about the allegations.
