Update: victim in fatal ATV crash identified

A 20-year-old has been identified as the person killed in a crash between an All-Terrain Vehicle and a school bus outside of Norwich Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened at around 3:40 p.m. along Highway 59, just north of Airport Road according to Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Emergency crews arrived to the scene and found the two vehicles had collided with one another. The driver of the ATV was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased. He was identified by police on Thursday as Tyler Hunter, 20, of Norwich Township.

The driver of the bus and the occupants inside were not injured.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team was called to investigate. The scene was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

Officers continue to investigate the crash. They are asking anyone who captured the incident on video or witnessed the collision to call them at 1-888-310-1122.
