Constable “Wes Coast” reported missing

Someone stole Constable “Wes Coast.”

Huron OPP are looking for help to find whoever took the aluminum decoy officer that belongs to the Coalition for Huron Injury Prevention.

It’s a life-size, two-dimensional cut-out of a police officer holding a speed gun.

In a release Wednesday, police say Constable Coast was taken sometime over the Labour Day weekend from the intersection of King Street and Albert Street in Hensall. Police say it had been cable locked to a concrete light standard at the time of the theft.

Police say the “creative tool had been utilized to help keep communities safer by reminding motorists to watch their speed in towns and villages throughout Huron County.”

Any person with information regarding the current whereabouts of Constable “Wes Coast” is encouraged to contact Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 482-1677.
