London woman wins $500k in her second big lotto prize

An extra lucky London woman has won $1.5-million over the last three years by playing her favourite lottery games.

Patricia Richards said she is a regular lottery player and has purchased tickets for over 30 years. Her latest win has secured her with $500,000 after winning a Maxmillions prize in the September 23 Lotto Max draw. Richards’ luck has paid off for her the past when she won $1-million on Encore back in 2019.

“I was at the store checking my ticket and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I was in shock,” Richards said about her latest pay out. “I was shaking, and I was numb!”

Richards, who is retired, said her son was the first person she called. She said he too was in disbelief that his mother could win another big prize so soon after her first win.

“We went over the winning numbers together,” Richards said. “I never dreamt this would happen – let alone twice!”

When asked how she plans to use her winnings, Richards explained that she would like to buy a home and travel.

“I would like to find a nice little place to live and be happy. I’ve also always wanted to travel to Hawaii, so there may be a trip in my future,” Richards said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Admiral Drive in London.
