Aylmer driver punched, threatened by pedestrian

Charges have been laid after an argument between a driver and a pedestrian in Aylmer turned physical.

A 21-year-old Aylmer man was driving a pickup truck west on Sydenham Street East just after 1 p.m. on Thursday when a 42-year-old man walked out in front of him.

The driver stopped his truck to avoid hitting the pedestrian and the two began to argue.

The verbal altercation quickly escalated with the pedestrian punching and pushing the driver, Aylmer police said. The man is also alleged to have verbally threatened to cause bodily harm to the pickup driver.

Police were called and investigated the incident.

A 42-year-old man has since been charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
