Tenants told to vacate apartment building in Lucknow for investigation

Residents of a two-storey apartment building in Lucknow have been displaced while investigators responded to an altercation Sunday afternoon.

At around 12:15 p.m., officers of the South Bruce and Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments were called to the property on Walter Street for a barricaded person incident.

According to investigators, police have since contained the subject’s residence and other tenants were asked to evacuate the dwelling.

Officers have closed Walter Street at Campbell Street (Bruce County Road 86) while the investigation continues. The OPP say there is no threat to public safety however, police are asking the public to avoid the area until the incident is resolved.

Police officials say more information will be provided as it becomes available.
