One person charged after hitting police cruiser with stolen vehicle

A Wingham man is facing a lengthy list of charges after a stolen vehicle smashed into a police cruiser.

Perth County OPP say in a release that at 7:40 p.m. on October 1st, officers were looking into some stolen plates that were seen on a parked vehicle at a business on Road 164 in North Perth. The vehicle rammed  the officer’s police cruiser twice and another parked car before taking ran off. A vehicle check revealed the vehicle was also stolen. Officers tracked down a suspect and placed them under arrest.

A 36-year-old Wingham man is now facing numerous charges including Assault a Peace Officer, theft, and impaired driving. The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
