The five-year review of the Official Plan for Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh was approved at a recent County Council meeting.
Planning Manager, Denise Van Amersfoort says there was some concern from residents with respect to some of the designation changes. “Council had a discussion about that. It involved a settlement area adjustment for a property north of Goderich, in proximity to the Goderich Municipal Airport.”
“From the department’s perspective, a full official plan amendment will be required at the time that that property is developed, as well as a zoning bylaw amendment. There will be a full public process at the time the development is proposed,” added Van Amersfoort.
She points out, at this time, there is no proposal and the property is simply being included in the settlement area, which is consistent with all of the properties in that area.
