A teenager has been charged after an incident at a high school in Exeter late last week.

On Friday, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police were called to South Huron District High School in Exeter after a threatening message scrawled in one of the washrooms was discovered. The threats have since been deemed a hoax by police.

Through an investigation, officers have identified a 14-year-old student who now faces a public mischief charge.

The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested by OPP officers Monday. He has since been released with a date at the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Goderich later this summer.
