ROBERT GILCHRIST

Robert (Bob) Gilchrist of Lucknow passed away at Sepoy Manor on May 18, 2022, at the age of 83.
He will be missed by his family: devoted wife June (Stewart), daughter-in-law Denise (loving wife of Grant, deceased 2015), and sons Dale (Marilynne) and Dan (Lorelei).
Remembered with love by Carolyn (wife of Murray, deceased 1991).
Grandfather of Brad (Kristie), Jess (Neil Froats), Erin (Eliakim Hawi), Ellen (Mathias Peel), Cass (Mark O’Neil) and Drew (Kate) and great-grandfather to Peyton, Ella, Allie, Aiden and Liam.
Predeceased by sons Grant and Murray, brother Jack and sister Shirley McDonald.
He is fondly remembered by neighbours, many friends, June’s siblings and their families.
Bob farmed most of his life just outside of Lucknow and was well-known to the community. In addition to farming, he operated a farm equipment business, worked as a butcher at Hilray Farms, and operated equipment for Teeswater Concrete and Porters. He volunteered for many years in the Agricultural Society and served as a member of the Board of Managers at Lucknow Presbyterian Church. He especially enjoyed his time travelling, square dancing, log sawing, playing slow-pitch, bowling, coaching hockey and meeting with his buddies at Mary’s Restaurant.
Visitation was held at Lucknow Presbyterian Church from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022 with a funeral at the church at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022.
Interment South Kinloss Cemetery.
