The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance (LWHA) has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the first-floor complex continuing care unit of the Listowel Memorial Hospital.
“Two patients and one staff [member] have been identified as part of the outbreak,” a news release said.
Currently, the hospital is no longer admitting patients to the complex continuing care unit instead they will be admitted to the second-floor medicine unit or neighbouring hospitals.
Emergency department visits, ambulatory care services, operating room procedures, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, and specialist visits will continue.
The LWHA said that all applicable staff and physicians have been asked to have a COVID test and that it’s working closely with Huron Perth Public Health in response to the outbreak.
