Military personnel in Middlesex Centre for cold weather training

Residents northwest of London can expect to see military personnel patrolling the area this weekend.

However, the presence of Canadian Army reservists need not raise concern as they will be in the Lobo area simply conducting cold weather training exercises.

The reservists will be practicing land navigation, construction of snow defences, and cold weather survival skills. All of the exercises will take place around residential areas and farm land between 7 a.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

All of the activities are being conducted with the co-operation of local authorities in officially approved locations, including private property. Certain areas will be off limits to the public while the training is underway.

Any weapons used during the training exercises will be unloaded and no live ammunition will be fired, the Canadian Armed Forces said.

The public is asked to use caution when approaching military vehicles being used in the training.
