Part of Highbury closed due to serious crash

London police have closed a stretch of Highbury Avenue in the city’s south end following a serious crash.

The crash happened Monday at around 2:50 p.m. police say. Crews responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision along Highbury Avenue South near Westminster Drive.

One of the drivers involved was taken to hospital. No other details have been released.

Members of the Traffic Management Unit remain on scene as of late Monday afternoon investigating the incident.

Highbury Avenue between Westminster Drive and Scotland Drive is closed to traffic and drivers are asked to find an alternative route.

As snow continues to fall across the region, road conditions in some areas have become snow covered and slippery. Police are reminding motorists to adjust their driving to the conditions and to take extra time upon venturing out on the roads.
