Sex trafficking investigation leads to more charges

An investigation into the trafficking of women has led to more charges against two people, and the arrest of a third.

The probe, which began in June of 2020, led to charges being laid in September against 29-year-old Jordan Hawke and 53-year-old Shelley Hawke, both of Cambridge. They, along with a third suspect, were accused of forcing a young women into the sex trade for a period of about 18 months.

At the time, police said they had located three other victims during their investigation. On Friday, police announced more charges.

Jordan Hawke is charged with:
Procuring/recruiting person under 18 to provide sexual services for consideration
Trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years
Trafficking in persons by recruiting, etc.
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person under 18
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person over 18
Advertising another person’s sexual services
Withholding or destroying documents in relation to trafficking persons under 18 years of age
Withholding or destroying documents in relation to trafficking in persons
Getting material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years
Getting material benefit from sexual services
Obtaining sexual services for consideration from person under 18 years
Obtaining sexual services for consideration
Printing, publishing, or possession of child pornography
Two counts of sexual assault
Uttering threats of death or bodily harm
Assault
Laundering proceeds of Canadian Crime.

Shelley Hawke is charged with:
Trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years
Trafficking in persons by recruiting, etc
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person under 18
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person over 18
Getting material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years Getting material benefit from sexual services

A third suspect, 29-year-old Rashane Robinson of Brampton is charged with:
Trafficking in persons under 18 years by exercising control
Trafficking in persons by recruiting
Getting material benefit from sexual services provided by a person under 18
Getting material benefit from sexual services provided by a person
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person under 18;
Getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person
Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person
Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years
Advertising another person’s sexual services
Printing, publishing, or possession of child pornography

According to London police, Jordan Hawke is being held in custody, while Shelley Hawke and Rashane Robinson have been released from custody with court dates in January.
