Dream Lottery sells out again

If you were thinking about buying a ticket for the fall edition of the Dream Lottery, you’re too late.

The semi-annual sweepstakes in support of London’s hospitals has sold out for a sixth straight time.

According to lottery officials, the last available ticket was purchased on Thursday, just one month after the lotto’s September 28 launch.

“Our community never ceases to amaze me,” said John MacFarlane, president and CEO of the London Health Sciences Foundation. Thank you for choosing to care about the patients and families at London’s regional hospitals by supporting Dream Lottery.”

The early sellout has led lottery officials to push up the draw date from January 6 to November 10. The winner will have their choice of four grand prizes – a $1.6 million custom home in Warbler Woods, a luxury home in north London, a ‘vacation for life’ package worth an estimated $1,071,490, or $1 million cash.

In addition to the sellout, the lottery’s 50/50 prize has also reached its highest total ever. The 50/50 prize pool is more than $1.4 million, with the winner taking half.

The lottery has raised more than $47 million since 1996 for the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. That money has been used to purchase specialized equipment and fund research at the three medical facilities.
