Gateway Casinos begins gradual reopening with Innisfil location

Gateway Casinos is officially reopening its doors across Ontario after nearly two weeks of being shutdown.

Fourteen of its Ontario casinos, including Cascades Casino in Chatham, Starlight Casino in Point Edward, Gateway Casinos in Sarnia, London, Woodstock, and Clinton, and Playtime Casino in Hanover, have been closed since April 16 after a ransomware attack knocked out its servers.

Gateway Casinos released a statement Saturday saying it would reopen its Innisfil site at 12 p.m., allowing customers to enjoy its slots and table games again.

In a previous statement, the company said there is no evidence that personal information was compromised due to the attack.

Although the cyberattack closed its casino floors, Gateway Casinos has continued to operate its concert venues.

Gateway Casinos will be reopening its sites using a “phased” approach over the coming days.
