Woman critically hurt in London house fire

A fire in London’s Old East Village has sent a woman to hospital with critical injuries.

The blaze broke out at a multi-dwelling home on Adelaide Street North, north of Dufferin Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the flames.

A woman was found during a search of the home. She was taken to hospital with injuries described as critical.

No damage estimate has been provided.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire officials and the London police street crime unit. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has also been notified.
