Obituary – Lloyd Buckingham

LLOYD BUCKINGHAM

Lloyd Arnsby Buckingham, beloved husband of 65 years to the late Agnes Jean Buckingham (Dec. 30, 2022),  passed away from a broken heart at Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, on Monday Feb. 20, 2023, in his 91st year.

He was born in Kincardine on August 25, 1932 to the late Helen and Leslie Buckingham.  Dear father of Laurie (Randy) Alton, Brenda (Dale) Shewfelt, Tracey (Brad) Aitchison and Michael (Leanne) Buckingham.  Greatly missed by grandchildren; Kelsie (Ryan), Marlee (Ben), Jamie (Dakota), Logan (Emma), Riley (Matt), Erin (Nathaniel) and Zachary and great grandchildren Crew, Harvey, Theodore and Brooks.  Also survived by brother Kerry (Shirley) Buckingham and brother-in-law Jim MacKenzie. Predeceased by 2 brothers, Clifford Buckingham and Francis Buckingham and grandson Nash Aitchison.

Lloyd lived and worked in Kincardine until his retirement in 1997 when they moved to Lucknow and became their grandchildren’s biggest fans attending any sport they participated in. He was a Life Member of the Kincardine Kinsmen and was well known as a baseball umpire.

The family is very appreciative of the excellent care they received in both Trillium Court and Pinecrest Manor.

A Public visitation was held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 from 1-3 PM at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, followed by a private family funeral service.  Spring interment South Kinloss Cemetery.  Donations to the Pinecrest Residents Council, Trillium Court Residents Council or the charity of your own choice are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.  Condolences online at www.mackenzieandmccreath.com
