United Way offering New Initiative Grants

United Way Perth Huron is offering a new type of funding for projects that help local communities.

In a release, UWPH says their New Initiative Grants will be available starting Monday, October 17. The grants are up to $20,000 for a year that will allow projects “developed by registered Canadian charities, incorporated not-for-profits or qualified donees that are planning to, or already deliver, social and community services in Perth and/or Huron,” the release stated.

Local organizations can state their interest for the New Initiative Grants until November 4. Submissions will be reviewed based on eligibility requirements and organizations will be notified whether or not their initiative has been approved to move on to the full application stage. Full applications are then submitted by November 25.

“The New Initiative Grant program is a great opportunity for community organizations,” said UWPH Director of Governance and Community Impact Megan Partridge. “It’s a way to respond to emerging needs, test service models, support smaller projects and help pilot new ones.”
