Woman charged in collision that left jogger seriously hurt

Charges have been laid in a collision that sent a St. Thomas jogger to hospital last month.

The 61-year-old woman was jogging along Thorman Terrace in the north-end of the city when she was hit by a vehicle on the morning of March 29. She suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital for treatment, St. Thomas police said.

The vehicle involved in the incident remained at the scene.

Following an investigation by the police traffic reconstruction team, charges were announced on Monday.

A 42-year-old St. Thomas woman has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm.
